Abstract

Perikanan karang merupakan salah satu aktivitas perikanan penting bagi masyarakat pesisir di wilayah pulau kecil, termasuk Pulau Hatta di Kepulauan Banda. Ekosistem terumbu karang menyediakan habitat bagi berbagai jenis ikan karang bernilai ekonomi yang mendukung perikanan skala kecil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan komposisi jenis ikan karang hasil tangkapan nelayan di Perairan Pulau Hatta. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan langsung terhadap hasil tangkapan nelayan, dilanjutkan dengan identifikasi jenis ikan berdasarkan nama lokal, nama ilmiah, dan famili ikan. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menyajikan komposisi jenis ikan karang dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan karang hasil tangkapan nelayan terdiri atas 11 famili, yaitu Lutjanidae, Serranidae, Carangidae, Lethrinidae, Mullidae, Haemulidae, Siganidae, Scaridae, Priacanthidae, Holocentridae, dan Kyphosidae. Famili Lutjanidae dan Serranidae merupakan kelompok ikan yang paling dominan dari total 44 spesies ikan karang yang teridentifikasi. Komposisi jenis tersebut mencerminkan karakteristik perikanan karang skala kecil yang bersifat multispesies dan berorientasi pada pemanfaatan ikan bernilai ekonomi. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan informasi dasar yang penting sebagai acuan awal dalam pengelolaan perikanan karang di wilayah pulau-pulau kecil.
